Roasted Garlic

This technique for roasting garlic is applicable to a large number of delicious recipes!

Ingredients

  • 1 head of garlic

Instructions

  1. Start by preheating the oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Cut the top off of the head of garlic, exposing the ends of the cloves. This is very similar to cutting the stem off of an onion. Your goal is to see the cut surfaces of the majority of the garlic cloves, but otherwise to leave the rest of the head intact.
  3. Wrap the garlic loosely in aluminum foil and bake at 400 degrees for one hour.
  4. Take the head of garlic and squeeze out the now soft cloves. This is a bit like squeezing it out of a tube! Most of the garlic will come out easily without any peelings, and is now ready for use!
