This gravy is an excellent addition to Thanksgiving dinner, but it’s delightful year round. (Kati: This is literally the best gravy I’ve ever tasted. Ladle this over a microwaved potato for a quick, delicious meal.)
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups vegetable broth
- 1 small onion, diced
- 3 or 4 button mushrooms diced (optional)
- 1/3 cup brown rice flour (or preferred/available flour)
- 1 tbsp soy sauce / tamari
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp powdered garlic
Instructions
- Saute onions and mushrooms in 1/3 cup vegetable broth over medium heat until onions are translucent.
- Add all remaining ingredients.
- Bring to a boil.
- Cook over medium-high heat for ten to fifteen minutes, stirring regularly, until gravy begins to thicken. It will thicken more upon standing.
