Chickpeas are responsible for hummus (even <a href=\"http:\/\/www.plantbpractical.com\/?p=620\">Peanut Cookie Hummus<\/a>), and the drained juice (or <i>aquafaba<\/i>) from a can of chickpeas even makes a serviceable egg substitute.<\/p>\n<p>Maple glazed chickpeas are just one more way chickpeas can add flavor to your life. Add the other spice ingredients. Mix the chickpeas well until they&#8217;re evenly coated.<\/li>\n<li>Scoop the chickpeas out of the bowl onto a cookie sheet, leaving a bit of syrup and spice mixture in the bottom of the bowl.<\/li>\n<li>Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the chickpeas are beginning to firm up.<\/li>\n<li>Remove the chickpeas, pour the remaining sauce over them, and use a wooden spoon or other implement to mix and coat the chickpeas again.<\/li>\n<li>Bake a further 10-15 minutes, or until the chickpeas begin to crisp.<\/li>\n<li>They can be served on their own, or they can be served with a meal or salad.
